Well this is how our little Rockery area is coming along nowadays, regular followers of my blog will know that this has been built from scratch and go oooh!!! Sorry about my shadow in the frame but hey the sun had other ideas about wanting me included into the frame lolool. The planting is sympathetic to herbs and to little creepy crawlies as well as our butterfly friends. My temporary bird table/bath lol is a plate ontop of a plant pot lol next year I do intend to have something more permenant for them but for now we shall see how they like this. I have lots of cuttings that green fingered mum has been bringing on for me in Bristol to pick up in Bristol when I go down next month to visit and see my son for his 18th.
I have always been around a garden I was bought up in a terraced victorian house from the age of 5 and both my grandparents homes had substantial gardens for us to play in. One was more so just grassed and had a huge apple tree at the top we all used to climb in, the other was a stunner. My grandad Albert was a massive gardener and had a huge huge veg patch, a greenhouse, a shed where he did wood work, the worlds smelliest compost heap, a rockery and at least 3 grassed areas with rose borders. The hedges where always perfectly square, it was always clean and as I was always hanging on his shirt tails I was learning as I went. Some things I grew up just knowing because of his teachings, they came naturally. I am a total fresh veg freak, I love it and I used to go out and help my nanny get the fresh veg for dinner or tea and then clean it and cook it with her. Hummmm me thinks I was being educated in being self sufficient even then lol, but also this is where things are more than that. My nanny was a gifted herbalist and a very healing and caring person to be around, she worked as a home help and the people she visited always seemed to live longer lol. It was put down to her cheer and the care she gave them but we know that she was a natural healer at heart. Grandad was also a great carer he was a retired aeroplane engineer and later in life was a volunteer gardener for a local childrens home. He seemed to have so much time for me and was I loved it!!!! I felt special and loved, I was the only one who really got into helping in the garden and being allowed to help.
I learned later in life he was a spiritualist after his loss of faith in the shristian church. He was very talented and both of my grandparents always knew how you felt deep inside and helped to make it better. This is the generation I go back to as being Wiccan Witches and gifted. My nanny cooked up a storm too, she used all her left overs in his compost heap including egg shells and tea bags. Food was as fresh as can be as it was from the garden no tinned stuff there unless it was corned beef and baked beans. My mum is very sensitive as she likes it too be called and that has been passed to me and then onto my son. So as you can see it is now in its 4th generation. My son's step mum is also a natural born wicaan and just uses her intuition etc to go through life and is gently taking over from where I left off teaching him but in a different way of course as he is now older.
We are encouraging his talents this way so that as he gets older he can learn to control them properly. He has picked out some plants he wants in the garen and wants to help plant them next year!!!! Like Im going to say no lololol.
love and light xxxxxxxxxxx
